Alright so, here's the deal. All my not-so-subtle ramblings to my flist and some others through email over the past couple of months have been in regards to running a Big Bang Challenge for the Eureka Fandom.

Before my team and I (yes, I DO have a team! \o/ Go me! *snerk*) get too far into the planning of this, we thought it might be a good idea to gadge the interest. ;) Always good before planning fannish...things. *nods* ;)

With the kind permission of svmadelyn we'll be basing the Eureka Big Bang Challenge (if there is enough interest to go ahead with it) on last year's SGA Big Bang premise which was an adaptation of the Harry Potter Big Bang Challenge (from what I understand, the HP fandom were the ones that came up with the idea of a Big Bang challenge so YAY! and Thank you! to them for the inspiration).

You can check out the amazing job svmadelyn did organzing this challenge (and IS doing as they are running a second one now) over on sgabigbang and to get an idea of what a Big Bang challenge entails. If there IS interest in this, there will be more posts on a separate commmunity to fill in all the details.

Thank you to everyone that took part in the poll. At this point in time however there simply is not enough interest from the artist side of this fandom to go ahead with a Big Bang Challenge. For those that have taken part in, or seen the results of, a Big Bang Challenge, you know that it simply would not be the same if the art was not included. That being said, we're not giving up total interest in pursuing the Big Bang idea, just putting it on the back burner for a while. We will revisit it again after season three and see if there has been an increase in interest from the Eureka fandom's artists. ::crosses fingers::

I've got people yo-yoing on and off my flist like crazy lately so I figrued I'd save everyone some trouble.

Waring: I don't believe in pussy footing around something. I am blunt and to the point. Sorry if that turns people off but realistically, wouldn't you rather know up front who you're considering friending instead of finding out afterward??

So, it's Halloween today and I thought it would be kind of cool to have people share any ghost stories that they know - whether they're stories that are popular in your hometown or actually stories that happened to you etc. It's all good. *g*

I'm going to leave this public for anyone interested. I know that Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year and part of that is hearing ghost stories from people that have experienced things around here. So I figured why not expand it to the interwebs and see what we come up with. ;)

I don't actually have any scary stories myself. Just little snippets here and there.

I can name off various stories:

My aunt seeing an elderly woman in a night gown, glowing and sort of see through, crossing in front of her when she was driving home - coming from a brown house and crossing into the woods.

Three men in town going out to an old cabin owned by one of my mother's relatives that had gotten hit by a train and killed about 20 some years ago. They heard footsteps upstairs, heard a door opening and closing and when they went upstairs to check it out, the footsteps started coming from downstairs.

My great-great aunt was dying and every morning they would change her bedsheets, remake the bed and go to put her back in it. When they pulled down the covers to put her back in bed, the bed was full of rose petals. This happened for several days until she died.

The same woman, elderly, never married, no kids, had a photo taken outside of her home. There were never children around because she was...somewhat stoic. ;) The photo was taken by someone here in town back in...I believe the 60s. It's of her sitting in a chair in front of her house. When the photo was developed, it was of her, in the chair outside her house, holding a baby.

And the stories go on and on and on around here. *g*

I'm slowly adding people back. I've set up some filters that will hopefully makes things better here.

Everyone is getting stuck on the fandom filter at the moment--I will most likely begin breaking that filter down into specific fandoms at some point. You're more than welcome to ask me to remove you from this filter if you'd rather not be on it.

There's a real life filter, however only those people I'm comfortable with will be on that one. Things were getting far too weird having over 300 people reading about my personal life and that's definitely my fault for not having filtered things ages ago but I've finally gotten off my ass to do it now. ;)

For the time being, there's just a fandom and a real life filter. As I said I'll most likely make filters for specific fandoms and will probably have a separate filter for ranting as well since no one should have to see that if they don't want to. ;)

So yeah.

I'm slowly slotting people into where I think they fit best at the moment and will later give you all the chance to choose where you actually WANT to be...if you want to be anywhere at all. *grins*

I've gone from 192 friends down to 77 and plan to do some more cutting as well.

Okay--here's the deal. I'm going to be doing some flist cutting. I'm going to cut anyone's journal that hasn't been updated in the past 6 months. If you've got your LJ for reading purposes and want to stay friended you can let me know. Otherwise...well I guess it won't matter either way if you're not actually using your journal. *snerk*

I've cut a few comms and people from my flist. Nothing personal, we just have different tastes as of late and I needed to trim my flist because it was getting a little overwhelming.
